Dr. Josalyn Foster is a Postdoctoral Fellow at PsychWorks Clinic.
She earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, where her work focused on culturally responsive academic, behavioral, and emotional interventions. While her training is rooted in school-based systems, her experience extends beyond them. She has worked across schools, private practice, community programs, and holistic wellness spaces, with a particular focus on the mental health and well-being of girls, women, and families.
Dr. Foster works with girls, teens, and women who find themselves in seasons of becoming — navigating shifts in identity, school, work, relationships, or simply figuring out who they are now. Whether you’re beginning something new or releasing what no longer serves you, she offers space to feel grounded, seen, and supported. Her approach to therapy is relational, thoughtful, and culturally conscious. It’s where evidence-based care meets real life. Together, she helps clients make sense of where they are and explore what comes next with care and intention.
In addition to therapy, Dr. Foster provides psychological evaluations for children and teens. Her assessment process is designed to help families better understand how their child learns, processes information, and responds to the world around them. Whether exploring attention, learning, or emotional challenges, she approaches testing as a collaborative process that brings clarity, confidence, and direction. The goal is not just to name the challenges but to uncover strengths and offer a path forward that feels supportive at home, in school, and beyond.
Dr. Foster believes that meaningful change often begins with understanding — of ourselves, our stories, and our needs. She approaches both therapy and assessment as intentional spaces to slow down and listen more closely. For girls, teens, and women, therapy is an opportunity to explore what healing, growth, and self-trust can look like over time. For children and teens, assessment helps uncover how they experience the world and what they need to thrive. She honors the truth that growth is rarely a straight line but believes that with the right support, it is always within reach.
